The paper considers the opportunities and obstacles to the integration of renewable energy sources (RES) in megacities on the example of Moscow. The paper analyzes the applied RES-based generation technologies, taking into account their applicability in large cities. Special attention was paid to the conversion of unused historical dams into small hydroelectric power plants (SHPP) as an integration of RES in megacities. Based on the results of the technical and economic analysis, it was found that the conversion of an unused dam on the Yauza River into a SHPP is justified.

Maintaining the optimal age structure of the forestry fund is an important factor in the use of forest resources. The purpose of this study was to analyze the age structure of the forestry fund of exploitation forests of the Republic of Karelia. For this purpose, data on the age structure of the forest fund by species groups was collected for 17 central forest districts of the study region. Data sources were forest planning documents. The results of the study showed that coniferous forests predominate in the Republic of Karelia. Deciduous tree species are more widely represented in the southern part of the study region. Deciduous and coniferous forests have different age structures. Young stock, mature timber and overmature forest predominate. At the same time, Young stocks are predominantly represented by coniferous forests. A small proportion of forest approaching maturity is one of the fundamental problems of the region under study, as it helps to curb the increase in logging volumes.

This paper deals with the development of automatic control system for sausage smoking chamber. Manual control of the smoking process can lead to errors and irregularity, so automation becomes a necessity. Smoking chamber control system works on two circuits - temperature and humidity. An automatic smoking chamber control system provides optimum conditions for smoking products. The paper presents the transfer functions for each circuit and the structural diagram of the control system. The coefficients used in the calculations were obtained from experiments conducted at a sausage production facility in Izhevsk. The paper analyzes the stability of the system by calculations and verification in the Matlab Simulink environment. Based on the verification, it was found out that the automatic control system of the sausage smoking chamber developed by us is working.

Loads from ice and frost formations on the wires of the contact network worsen the quality of current carrying and contribute to the emergency situation. The article presents the analysis of methods and sets of equipment for diagnostics of ice and frost formations on the wires of the contact network. Elements of diagnostic equipment form an information system, the end point of which is the energy dispatcher's console. It is shown that the composition of the diagnostic equipment is determined by the type of contact suspension and its place of installation. The variety of methods used for diagnostics of ice on wires of the contact suspension shows the complexity of the problem to be solved.

The article discusses a mathematical model of an excavator's hydraulic shears, which describes the functional dependencies of their main parameters based on regression statistics. An algorithm for the process of selecting optimal parameters for hydraulic shears used to destroy metal structures during the dismantling process is presented, and a description of the developed software application that automates the process of selecting these parameters is given. The application described in the article will reduce the time required for the design stage of excavator attachments.

In this paper, we investigate the possibility of applying the theory of Monty Hall's paradox in tasks that require the need for an optimal choice of a strategy for developing the innovative potential of an enterprise. The article provides recommendations for taking into account and constructive use of the effects that affect the involved experts, in particular, the Condorcet principle and paradox. The paper explores the limits of applicability of the Monty Hall paradox theory. Its applicability is determined, together with considerations about the profitability of changing the initial choice in problems with the so-called "random intelligence".

The article discusses the possibilities of implementing the model of subject-language integrated learning in higher education institutions, and the authors focus on their professional experience in implementing this model in Southern Federal University for undergraduates. The authors managed to highlight in detail the working options of CLIL, taking into account the specifics of the modern labor market. The authors conclude that the presented technology can and should be applied in practice while observing the principle of feasibility in the perception of professional content in a foreign language by the target audience. This approach requires the teacher to be flexible in the development of such disciplines, since their subject content is adapted in accordance with the language level of the students.

The paper considers a model of a multi-aperture wave-front sensor for an active laser beam control system based on the iterative image reconstruction algorithms with limitations, particularly, on the Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm. The specifics of these algorithms is the presence of the so-called divergence factor which is characterized by obtaining “successful” and “unsuccessful” solutions, and may be clarified by stagnation conditions available (or by local extrema). The use of global optimization methods allows to avoid this constraint and to build quite an effective strategy for retrieving phase information. An experimental research was conducted to restore phase information using this method. For this purpose, a model of a seven-channel laser system with a different phase shift was developed.

The article presents a project for an automated public transport stop, which includes the ability to regulate the lighting and temperature of the room, video surveillance, registering the location of vehicles in real time and displaying it on the display, as well as using wireless Internet and recharging the phone by equipping the stop with the necessary devices. The purpose of the article is to increase the level of comfort and safety of each consumer. Security is ensured by installing a panic button for communication with emergency services and a CCTV camera that transmits real-time video to dispatch services when the panic button is pressed. In addition to technologies previously introduced in the Russian Federation and other countries, it is proposed to additionally equip stops with vending machines for food and drinks. The uniqueness of the work lies in the adaptive temperature control system, which allows you to change parameters and operating strategies depending on current data and environmental conditions. The article selects and describes each component of an adaptive automated system from a technical point of view, provides an equipment diagram and notes the possibility of reducing project costs by including renewable energy sources.

Prompt adjustment of the composition of the asphalt concrete mixture is key to achieving high quality asphalt concrete. To enable easy and rapid adjustment of the asphalt concrete mixture formulation, predicting the properties of asphalt concrete (Marshall stability) is critically important. There are many methods for predicting the properties of asphalt concrete, but the choice of one method or another is a very pressing problem. This article proposes two methods for forecasting Marshall stability: forecasting using a multiple linear regression model and forecasting using an autoregressive model. To evaluate the forecasting accuracy of models, we use two metrics: average absolute error (MAE) and average absolute percentage error (MAPE). The results of the study show that the autoregressive model exhibits better forecasting results, especially the second-order autoregressive model.
