  • Development of a wave energy conversion system for powering marine buoys using piezoelectric elements

    This study investigates the integration of piezoelectric elements with marine buoys for the purpose of utilising wave energy in autonomous marine devices. The buoy system was subjected to controlled wave conditions during testing, resulting in a peak voltage of 5.6 V and a maximum power of 40 microW. The findings indicate the viability of the system in powering low-power marine equipment. The integration of piezoelectric elements into marine buoy systems offers a cost-effective hybrid solution, making it a promising power source for powering buoys and sensors in remote offshore environments.

  • Development of a technique for automated control of the gloss of chocolate bars based on machine vision for automation of cooling and molding processes

    The article presents a technique for automated control of the gloss of chocolate bars based on machine vision, integrated into the functional scheme of automation of cooling and molding processes. The key factors affecting gloss are considered, existing control methods are analyzed and the need for continuous objective quality assessment is substantiated. To optimize the process, a digital simulation has been created in the R-PRO environment, which allows simulating various technological modes. The developed image processing algorithms calculate quantitative gloss values and form feedback with the control system, adjusting key production parameters. The proposed approach improves the accuracy of control, reduces the volume of defects and reduces the time for debugging equipment, creating conditions for the further development of full automation in the chocolate factory.

  • Dynamics of electromagnetic ferro-powder coupling unit

    The paper proposes and specifies the engineering mathematical model of the drive using a block of ferrofluid couplings and, within the framework of preliminary design, studies its dynamic properties, in the course of which transient characteristics are obtained, allowing to assess the qualitative performance of such a drive and to outline measures for their improvement.

  • Predictive control of continuous tank reactor based on fuzzy model

    At present, continuous tank reactor is widely used in many different industries, and there are many control methods for this reactor. This paper presents a design method for model predictive controller (MPC) based on fuzzy model. The control object is modeled by fuzzy model (Takagi-Sugeno), the optimization problem is solved by genetic algorithm. Using fuzzy models and genetic algorithms to implement MPC controller, it achieved better quality than traditional MPC controllers.

  • Development of a circuit with pulsating circulation of liquid coolant in the circuit of a plate heat exchanger

    A laboratory circuit of the installation with a heat exchanger-supercharger in the hot water circuit of the boiler has been developed. The conducted studies have shown that the temperature of hot water at the outlet changes depending on the oscillation frequency of the electromagnetic valve at a given flow rate, and the highest efficiency of water heating is observed at a frequency of 1.75 Hz. Calculation of the heat transfer coefficient showed that at a steady-state flow rate, the heat transfer coefficient of the heat exchanger-supercharger is 180 W / (m ^ 2 ° C). Then, with increasing frequency, the heat transfer coefficient smoothly decreases and reaches a minimum of 173 W / (m ^ 2 ° C) at 1.0 Hz. With a further increase in frequency, the heat transfer coefficient begins to increase and reaches a maximum of 188 W / (m ^ 2 ° C) at 1.75 Hz. As a result of the experiment, it was also found that with increasing frequency, the flow rate in the hot water circuit increases and reaches a maximum at a frequency of 1.75 Hz Q = 0.6 l / sec. That is, at such a frequency, the heat exchanger-supercharger, due to the oscillations of the liquid flow in the first circuit (cold water circuit), most effectively transmits the oscillations of the flow to the second circuit (hot water circuit), which can be used to reduce the power of the pump in the hot water circuit at this frequency.

  • Processing of measurement information from an eddy current sensor during localization of defects in the surface layer of bearing parts

    The problem of determining the area of defects in the surface layer of bearing parts according to eddy current non-destructive testing is considered. Methods of processing eddy current control data are given. The possibility of using a robust median polishing method to increase the information content of eddy current data is substantiated. It is proposed to use a sliding window, a standard deviation calculation, and a production rule formed by the Shannon information entropy criterion as tools for localizing defect patterns in the eddy current image of the control object. The results of the application of the developed localization algorithm based on eddy current control data of bearing parts obtained in real production conditions are presented.

  • The passive method for parametric identification in adaptive process control using neural network technology

    The article considers the method for parametric identification of a model of steady-state modes of a technological process. The method essence is to use artificial neural networks. The input of each neural network is measured values of input and output process variables, and the output is a corresponding parameter value of the technological process model. The effectiveness of the method was assessed by conducting computational experiments on regression models with two factors and models of steady-state modes of technological processes in existing industries. The average relative error of the models does not exceed 0,43%. The method for parametric identification is applicable in adaptive control of steady-state modes of the technological process. One of advantages of the method is that with a specified form of mathematical description, training a neural network does not require statistical experimental values of process variables.

  • Approaches to optimizing the production process management system at the enterprise

    Finding ways to improve the efficiency of the production process at precast concrete plants is a relevant area in production management. It is necessary to take into account the specifics of the entire production process. Identifying opportunities to improve the production process management system is critical for any organization seeking to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall productivity. Production process management involves taking into account many variables, such as labor, equipment, raw materials, workflow, and more. Production management is aimed at optimizing production and finding a balance between the quality and productivity of manufactured goods, as well as the time and resources spent on their production. When studying ways to improve the production process, managers focus on two key parameters: productivity and product cost. When setting goals to reduce costs and increase productivity, managers must take into account these closely interrelated elements. But despite the obvious connection between productivity and cost, attempts to improve these parameters are often made separately. The purpose of the article is to identify approaches to optimizing the production process management system at an enterprise. The study is practically significant due to the fact that the development of approaches to optimization of the production process management system at the enterprise will help to use these approaches in the production process management system.

  • Methods for solving the problem of lack of inputs and outputs of programmable logic controllers during construction of automated control systems

    The article discusses various methods for solving the problem of lack of inputs and outputs of programmable logic controllers during construction of automated control systems. The control signals that the controller operates can be divided into two categories: the first one is responsible for direct control of the equipment system and the second one organizes the human-machine interface (HMI). The methods described in the article allow to significantly reduce the load of HMI on controller or delegate them to the operator's touch panel completely. An example of interaction between the controller and the operator panel via the MODBUS protocol is given. The pros and cons of the described methods, as well as the conditions under which they are preferable, are listed.

  • A software complex for modeling the control system for the pasteurization of canned fish

    During the production of delicatessen canned fish, the control system should ensure a gentle heat treatment regime with a decrease in the degree of temperature exposure to the product. Changing the modes requires reconfiguration of the type and parameters of temperature regulators in the autoclave, carried out based on the results of processing modeling. The software complex for modeling the object and control system during pasteurization provides for calculating the degree of sterilizing effect. The complex contains system and application softwares. The application modules implement the functions of a graphical interface, a virtual controller, numerical simulation of product temperature changes and data transmission. The virtual controller allows select controllers: positional, proportional-integral-differential, and states. The novelty of the model lies in the display and the possibility of changing both the parameters of the regulator and the coefficients of the desired polynomial, taking into account the sign of the derivative of temperature during heating and cooling. The practical value of the work is to reduce the time for reconfiguring the autoclave control system, ensuring a reduction in the degree of temperature exposure when a given sterilizing effect is achieved by selecting the type and parameters of temperature control rules.

  • Analysis and prospects for the application of automated technologies and laser triangulation for visual inspection of weld quality in the production of large-diameter longitudinally welded pipes

    The article presents an analysis of modern methods and prospects for the application of automated technologies and laser triangulation for visual inspection of weld quality in the production of large-diameter longitudinally welded pipes. A review of scientific and patent publications over the past 5 years was conducted using databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science, eLibrary, and Google Patents. Key aspects such as the use of laser triangulation sensors (hereafter referred to as LTS) for assessing the geometric parameters of welds and the integration of machine learning methods to enhance inspection accuracy and automation were considered. The study shows that the application of LTS in combination with machine learning methods ensures high accuracy in evaluating weld quality, which is crucial for ensuring the reliability of pipelines in various industries. Based on the conducted analysis, recommendations for developing an automated system for visual inspection of welds on production lines have been identified.

  • Assessing the probability of message duplication in an Industrial Internet of Things system

    Currently, Internet of Things technologies are actively used in manufacturing enterprises for remote monitoring and preventive control of technological processes. The article is devoted to the development of an original mathematical model of the process of transmitting information packets and confirmations in the Industrial Internet of Things system, the use of which allows us to assess the probability of duplication of messages sent to the production process control center. To develop the model, the mathematical apparatus of probabilistic graphs was used, which makes it possible to take into account all possible states of the simulated process and the probabilities of transitions from one state to another. The results of computational experiments showed that the use of the developed model makes it possible to justify the choice of the maximum number of retransmissions, in which the probability of message duplication does not exceed the specified permissible values ​​at the current level of bit errors.

  • Determining the temperature of cable power lines using fiber optics

    The article considers the possibility of measuring the temperature of cable transmission lines with the help of specially manufactured narrowed quartz optical fiber. The technology of manufacturing of narrowed optical fiber on a specially designed device is considered. The device of laboratory installation for revealing the expansion of optical fiber under the influence of temperature is considered. The influence of temperature on the laser beam deflection in the created quartz single-mode fiber is investigated.

    This article presents a study on the approach to the development of a medical decision support system (DSS) for the selection of formulas for calculating the optical strength of intraocular lenses (IOLs) used in the surgical treatment of cataracts. The system is based on the methods of building recommendation systems, which allows you to automate the process of choosing an IOL and minimize the risk of human error. The implementation of the system in the practice of medical organizations is expected to be highly accurate and efficient, significantly reduce the time allowed for decision-making, as well as improve the results of surgical interventions.

  • Structural and circuit design solutions for autonomous low-power power supply systems using renewable energy sources

    The article examines the problem of power supply of low-power devices remote from stationary power sources. The structural solutions of autonomous power supply systems of high and low power, which use renewable energy sources, are considered. It is shown that in autonomous micro and low-power power supply systems, MPPT-type controllers do not provide technical and economic advantages compared to controllers in which, due to simple structural and circuit design solutions, the necessary but sufficient minimum of functions for charging and discharging the energy storage of the power supply system is implemented. The models of circuit solutions of the controller nodes are presented, which implement the necessary minimum of functions for charging and discharging the energy storage device and the results of experimental studies showing the operability of the proposed circuit solutions.

  • Research on the use of the MatLab Simulink software environment as a development environment for microcontrollers of the STM32 family

    This article presents a study aimed at evaluating the use of the Matlab Simulink software environment for the development of microcontroller systems of the STM32 family. The possibilities of Simulink in the field of modeling and testing control algorithms, as well as in generating code that can be directly applied to microcontrollers, are analyzed. The article describes in detail the process of creating conceptual models and their dynamic modeling. The advantages of using Simulink include speeding up the development process through automated assembly and the ability to adjust model parameters in real time. In addition, Simulink allows you to generate processor-optimized code, which significantly increases the efficiency of microcontroller systems. However, attention is also drawn to some limitations associated with using Simulink, such as the need to create a configuration file in STM32CubeMX and potential difficulties in configuring it. The article provides an in-depth analysis of the application of Simulink in the context of the development of STM32 microcontrollers and can become a key material for those who want to deepen their knowledge in this area.

  • Automation of carbon black production using an environmentally friendly furnace reactor

    The article discusses the automation of the control of an environmentally friendly furnace reactor produced by various grades of carbon black. The complexity of au-tomation is caused by the variety of furnace reactors and the spread of process pa-rameters depending on the products.
